Comedy Channel Boxes

I with Geoff Thomson (senior designer/3D artist at Foxtel Entertainment) on this promo. The idea was fully formed by the time I came onboard and a basic test footage had already been shot. While on a recce, Geoff took a video of the entire warehouse on this iPhone, extracted frames from it and fed it into a photogrammetry software. Then he worked some voodoo magic and he came up with a layout scenefile which was 1:1 true to scale model of the warehouse. After the shoot, he 3D tracked the the steadycam footage and placed it in the previously built layout and it matched perfectly. During the shoot I took a several bracketed panoramas using a new panoramic tripod head and a Peleng 8mm f3.8 circular fisheye lens and stitched it together as HDRI panos in PTGui.

I sourced some 3D models, and built some other ones (they were mainly boxes). I painted the models in Substance Painter and built the animation system using MoGraph in Cinema4D. We rendered the whole thing in Cinema4D's physical render, and Neat Video to denoise.
